Independent Engineering
Advice is shaped around project requirements, not equipment sales.
Independent energy engineering
JLJ helps stakeholders, builders, and architects plan resilient energy systems—from battery backup and solar contribution through electrical scope, permitting, and project delivery.
Advice is shaped around project requirements, not equipment sales.
Electrical, storage, controls, and delivery constraints are considered together.
Code and permitting implications remain visible throughout scoping.
Design decisions connect to runtime, resilience, and practical project outcomes.
Consulting scope
Core consulting
General advisory support by phone, video, or on-site.
Deliverable
A technical design package for the proposed system.
Compliance
Additional professional permitting scope when fire-code review is required.
Philosophy
JLJ keeps requirements, operating conditions, technical scope, compliance, and delivery responsibility connected before equipment decisions become commitments.

Selected energy systems shaped around operating requirements, site constraints, and coordinated delivery.
"Black Mesa" is a grid-scale battery energy storage plant organized around modular, independently controllable storage groups. The reference design ranges from 228 to 640 MWh and can operate either as one aggregated grid resource or as separate battery banks when system conditions require isolation.
"Meadowline" is a 2.18 MW DC community solar project interconnected with a regional investor-owned utility and serving residential subscribers across the surrounding service territory.
"Ridgeline" is a fully off-grid resort development planned to grow from an initial cluster of cabins to several hundred over a multi-decade build-out, with no utility connection at any phase. The project required an electrical architecture that could expand incrementally without reworking the underlying system at each stage.
About JLJ
